On my Crossovers and SP20's I'm getting tiny dots of rust on the front edges of all of my 4 Hohners. I haven't had this happen however with the Manji's but the Hohners get played the most. Would it help to use FLITZ metal polish, I've used some in the past on my Japanese chefs knives and still have a tube of it laying around. The spots are so small a quick wipe on fine emery paper cleans them but I'm wondering if the polish might protect against this at all?

Simichrome Polish polishing paste. It's made by Happich. Made in Germany product #390050.
Nothing better!

I have used Simichrome polish on a lot of things and it works well. I would be a little concerned to use it on something I put in my mouth. I looked up the MSDS and I see that the hazardous materials, white spirit, kerosene and ammonia, probably don't hang around long. Toxicity seems very mild.

The FLITZ MSDS looks even safer. I have never used FLITZ but based on the MSDS I would be less concerned about safety when used on a harp.
