I really dig Lee's sound and his lessons. I think he does a great job here breaking down one of my favorite aspects of blues harp playing and that's tongue slappin'!

Good one, Mike! It's worth being reminded of basic techniques. Although I learned to play tongue blocked, sometimes these fundamentals slip by the wayside as I learn more complicated licks and rhythms.

Lee Sankey plays his harmonica upside down. Weird.

Butterfield played upside down too but he wasn't much of a slapper!

yeah, the tongue slap itself is indeed a fundamental element of playing TB'd. I don't think the application Lee goes into here is basic at all though. Mastering the sound he gets is quite difficult IMO..
