A few announcements about HarmoniCollege 2016
FIRST
This year we offer “choose your jam”. Everyone that pays by March 15 gets to request jam tunes for us to play Friday or Saturday night. That way we can shape the jam to something each student wants to learn. Each person will be asked to submit 2 tunes. We will review all the suggestions and try to do as many as possible.
SECOND
The new guitar classes have been announced.
Tom Cannon will be teaching
1) Playing up the neck. Includes reviewing/learning the fretboard with shortcuts to finding notes up the neck
2) learning chord positions using the CAGED system
3) Intro to finger style We will learn using "House of the Rising Sun"
4) Soloing the blues using minor pentatonic( i will take it up a level if class is advanced enough)
5) learning songs for the nightly jams including basis interpretation of following I-IV-V pattern ie what that means
Chris Sutton will teach
6) Intro to advance chord patterns ie basic substitutions
7) Intro to slide, basic blues pentatonic solo and technique for damping strings on slide hand
