Name this player. He's good enough that (IMO) we oughta know. A 'Modern' player to boot, - if not strictly blues.

having a problem getting direct links to work tonight - Will revisit tomorrow.

for now, this will get you to a folder with the three files you can click on and hear.
But ya gotta copy and paste into the address bar at top of your browser. ugh

All 3 were locked, so I couldn't listen to them.

Shite. I'll look into it. - thanks. Did the files come up but not start to play? Or could you not even get to the 'player page' ? Sometimes the page comes up but it takes a while to load and play.

I only had time to listen to the first cut, but I'll agree: very powerful, modern, interesting stuff. I don't know what I'd call it. It's really fusion jazz--like John McLaughlin and the Mahavishnu Orchestra. I have no idea who the player is.

It's AJ Silverberg, who posted a link to his album here recently.

You can listen to the full album here:

It's really good stuff.

Bing! Bing! Bing! Blingly. He did post recently but didn't get much attention. Hence my new thread with the "Paying Attention?" heading. I did contact AJ on FB first and got his permission to excerpt and re-post here. Promoting yourself is a PITA and I really felt he deserved a listen.

I usually click those links to 'here's my new album' with very little expectation, other than being prepared to offer constructive criticism. In this case I was extremely impressed.

Thanks. I was pretty impressed too by how integrated the playing was and that the songs were original and interesting... and then good grooves and singing too... Just overall a great package. Great stuff, AJ!

I think we have the embed code here:

Thank you guys! I appreciate you taking the time to share this again with the kind folks in this forum.

I wanted to embed one of the solos as it is the one I am most proud of. It is the final refrain of the track "Step Outside" and it features are very exciting peak reaching harmonica solo played over a latin jazz type groove. Hope you enjoy.
