I didn't know Pat but from my single dealing with him he was a heck of a nice guy. Jason recommended I check out his music so I bought a CD from him. I told him Jason told me I should listen to him and he sent me a second CD with a little not attached for free. Nice guy!
Interesting video. Entertaining. Informative. I wasn't aware of these stories. I'll have to go back and watch the first two. You have a lot of fans and a lot of subscribers. I think it is cool that you are giving them a chance to get to know you as a person and "not just a musician". However, when Jimmy Fallon calls you to appear on The Tonight Show, you might want to clean it up a bit. Just sayin. ---------- Tom Halchak www.BlueMoonHarmonicas.com
Thanks guys these are so rewarding to have just as tributes (for me) that they are worth struggling with the messed up new editing the newer version of iMovie provides! Hearing how people like them makes me even more motivated to make more….And Tom Halchak…My Man... HAAAA!!!! I feel you but these ARE the edited/cleaned up versions!!!! Sorry…you just can't ( or I refuse) mix this music and any real talk any cleaner than these without losing the flavor. Thanks you a Moon Cat Love and appreciate ALL Y'all!-Jason ---------- www.mooncat.org

It was a serious trip listening to you on this. I knew Pat and Sean and now Clyde. I need you to know that you sharing this does everything you hope it could. Thanks.
The only harp player that I ever heard tell a story as well as you (the Tarantino of harp playing) is Paul deLay who was also effortlessly articulate. I always loved Pat and once talked to Johnny Winter about him while we were at a William Clarke show....Still: my favorite Pat song might be that mellifluous New Orleans youtube thing he did post- Katrina! (When you Olympian players slow down I melt) ---------- Facebook
Yeah Bigd!!! That tunes is called: "Loan Me a Dime" origionally by Fenton Robinson and yeah Pat definitely makes it his own! Thanks for watching I'll keep 'em coming.-J ---------- www.mooncat.org

I first discovered Pat in 1987 when his band opened for Johnny Winter at a show in south Florida. The following year, I headed up north to Tallahassee (where Pat was living at the time) to attend college. I'd catch his gigs every chance I could -- which was a lot, as I don't think they were traveling much. Every show I went to, folks would rave about the band he had fronted earlier: Crosscut Saw. They were legends in the north Florida, south Georgia area. I just discovered that "Mad, Bad and Dangerous to Know" (I THINK it was their only record) is on Spotify. It sounds a bit dated and (while I respect the heck out him) Julien Kasper's playing here is a bit too metal/guitar hero for me ..... But this record is a great way to dig where Pat was as a player and singer in late 70s and early 80s. And "Vegetable Oil" is a flat-out, balls to the wall ROCK instrumental (that happens to have harp on it). Thanks, Jason, for all you do to keep Pat's memory and music alive!
Like HarpNinja I am on the road a lot. Often without any signal, so a way to download these and other videos (like the way Adam has his lessons) into Dropbox or something would be awesome.
Guys (Ninja/Crawforde) I don't know about the down loading…I can barely make these vids and post 'em here much more make 'em downloadable. I wish I had a tech dude who would take a cut of profits created by their tech skills, kinda pro-bono type stuff, but I haven't met her/him yet… So SORRY! -J ---------- www.mooncat.org
Ninja and Crawforde - assuming you have internet on your PC at home, you could create an audio file pretty easily buy using Audacity (which is free). Just play the video on youtube and record the audio with Audacity. Then you can transfer the file to your phone so you can listen at your leisure. Jason's video was about 3o minutes long. Set up your PC, turn on the video and Audacity, come back in 30 minutes and you're done. I do that with music I want to learn. Record off YouTube, put it on my phone, have a jam session when I'm out walking my dogs. ---------- Tom Halchak www.BlueMoonHarmonicas.com
You can go to a site called youtubemp3.org and turn any you tube video into an mp3 downloaded right to your computer.Super easy to use.Play it and it's in your I tunes library.
I use an extension for Safari called FastestTube, it gives you a button where you can click to download as video (mp4) or audio (m4a). It is great for ripping things from youtube.
Thanks for the software tips guys! Mooncat you need a techie and a cartoonist. I like your rough, gritty, honest presentation! I think if you scripted them and cleaned them up too much they would be more like a cheesy low budget documentary. I can't show the kids though, I'd get castrated. A cartoon version would be cool. Maybe two, one for kids and one in a Ralph Bakshi style.
Thank you Jason. Great work, entertaining. I bought Johnny Winters album in the early 80's and when i came homeand put it on and the solo on Last Night began i be knocked out! Many years later when Internet made it possible to search for music i found Pats side and i saw he had made 3 CD's by his own. I could just afford 2 CD's at that time. But Pat sent me all 3 anyway! :D
Thanks Martin! Yes I totally got that wrong , Nice catch and thank you! I'll go in and put a note on the video, I'm terrible with dates! ---------- www.mooncat.org
