The band I play with has been playing out a lot and we had 3 gigs booked for January but at the end of our NYE gig our singer and leader announced that he's packing up and moving to Canada. . . Tomorrow.

This is the best and most fun bunch of players I've played with in many years and this is a stone cold drag. Back to sitting in now and then and (shudder), blues jams. We can't continue without him- it was his show.

We were together about 2 years and it was a nice run.

What a drag.

Same thing happened to me a few years ago, the female singer and the lead guitar fell for each other, both left their partners, and they moved away and opened a guitar shop..

You should get a stand in or start singing yourself, don't turn the gigs down, good luck

I never started singing until I had to. It was a good thing. Some bands I worked with over the years had 3 or 4 members who each sang 6 or 8 songs, and we would make it through each gig with a different set list. Rehearsals were tough but it was worth while.

Duo I am in now, we both sing. I'm grit and gravel she's honey and molasses.
