I was YT surfing last night and hankerin' for Ray Charles. This segued into Norah Jones.

Watching closely on one video I noticed her discreetly(?) maintaining time while her impressive backup performed their solos. I can't say if it was visible to the crowd but one of the camera angles caught her keeping time behind her back. Being a standing foot tapper or swayer when I was still fully able and gigging, I admit to occasional boredom and absence when my current and appropriate contribution was to simply sit out.

I know this has been discussed before. I love how Norah maintains silent presence during the whole number. (First noticed and rewound a few times @ 1:17). She moves and grooves throughout without casting an imposing shadow onto the ever changing spotlight.

I had been mentally playing along when I was surprised (@ 2:50) by the appearance of one of the most patient live harp players that I know of. Mickey Raphael is a true professional and the type of live performer I could never be. I wonder how he fights off a snooze during some of Willy's shows as he plays the same thing, the same way, once again. This show had to be a blast.
