I saw some older posts re SS amps that were positive for the EH 44 Magnum into a L'il Buddy speaker. I have a L'il Buddy available and I'm interested in what those who have used this combo did for a speaker cab. Could you use any bargain priced amp found on eBay, swap out the 10" speaker and bypass the electronics to wire the 44 to the input jack then directly to the speaker?

why not just get a 10" cab?

i find CL to be cheap for small amps if you want to go that way.

what you are saying should work.

i do want to thank you for giving me some ideas though.

i do a lot of my shows by motorcycle or bicycle travel,so an EH 44magnum could come in handy

I got a repair guy at a music store to sell me a small cab from a dead Fender SS amp. I cut a baffle for the 10" Lil Buddy and wired in a 1/4" jack for the speaker cable from the EH 44 Magnum. I had some left over grill cloth.

I have used it to play with several bands that have given me an open invitation to sit in anytime, including a young blues band, Kilborn Alley. I bring it when I sit in instead of my vintage tube amps, which I reserve for paying amplified gigs and don't drag out just to sit in. It isn't as good a sound as the tube amps, but it is a good loud solid state amp with decent tone. The Lil Buddy really sings when I turn it up! It really surprised Kilborn Alley when I played with them and the amp was loud all over the club. I use a Shure 585AV with this amp, and it is resistant to feeding back.

i have a, electro harmonix battery powered amp, it kicks serious butt.
i have posted several examples.

the 44 magnum, is most likely the same amp.
my amp was discontinued becuse it cost too much to produce.

it is solid state, so yes it does produce harsh over tones.

but it is very cool. i use it all the time.
all the time!..... and it has only one eight inch speaker!

it is not in the same league as the quilter,
but it has it's niche.

Given that the L/W harp break can sound really good through a S/S PA maybe it would be the ideal match with the Magnum?
