I've been catching up lately on some releases I have bought over the last few years (just don't got the time) so, Ronnie Earl - Just For Today, Duke Robillard - Independently Blue, Sax Gordon - In the Wee Small Hours and Tampa Red - Dynamite! And some others!

Jimmy Rogers’ Chicago Bound album has got the slot occupied in the truck, it just took over from Carey and Lurrie Bell ‘Dynasty’ album

In the headphones so I can copycat is James Cotton How Long Can A Fool Go Wrong. That’s part of my current fascination with 1st position, and very educational it has been. Mr Gussow has a lesson available on this verse, which led me to the song.

(Next move is to study the ‘Ludella’ cut from the Chicago Bound LP. Interesting mix of low octave 1st for the comping and high octave for the solos…at least that’s what I’m thinking from my listening in the car…)

In the yard, Ron Sunshine’s new album…I dunno if that counts as ‘blues’ but I love that big band stuff

Lined up is Jon Atkinson’s latest, and some oldies: Kim Wilson’s Tiger Man (old) and the 3 volume edition of Chicago; The Blues: Today! (older)

Soaking up a lot of George Smith and Carey Bell these days. @ SuperBee "Ron Sunshine’s new album…I dunno if that counts as ‘blues’ but I love that big band stuff" ...I love it too
and I'd say it's definitely a branch on the blues family tree!

I'm listening to a couple of compilation albums, Sonny Boy Williamson & Friends, a buddy emailed them to me and I play them at work on a tinny little radio, off of my phone.......Perfect.

edited to add: in the car I've got a Lazy Lester cd I bought from the man himself, and at home on the record player I've been enjoying Albert King's Born Under a Bad Sign- funny about that album, when I first picked it up I listened to it and I just didn't dig it, then a month or so ago I put it back on and was really, really impressed, duh now I get it.

Only been playing the harp for a couple of years and am working on Walter 'Shakey' Horton's "All Because of You" and Paul Butterfield's "Born in Chicago", (doin' this with Michael Rubin). I also listen to a lot of Sonny Boy Williamson, Carey Bell, and Kim Wilson.

I've been listening to more and more Bruce Willis. His 2nd position attack deserves more attention from serious harmonica enthusiasts.
