Has anyone ever used the Roland Mobile BA amp for busking- I'm talking about the all white Roland amp that's about 120 on a site like amazon. I'm looking for a pretty lightweight amp that I can fit into a custom harmonica case I'm trying to build and it looked like this one could fit the bill
AS far as I know the black version of it is just about the same thing, and that one I have used quite a lot for busking. Me through the "instrument channel" and the guitarist through "microphone". A fine little thing that has quite a lot of output. (There are some videos of people (including me) using it in such a context.
It has built in effects (chorus, reverb/delay, distortion) so there hasn´t really been any greater need for pedal enhancement. Are you thinking of anything in particular?
@shakeylee: It could be that I´ve already posted this here ... Don´t like to wave my own flag, and it´s certainly nothing remarkable here -- but this first one may have some instructional value since I at some point (about 1 minute in) decide that I want a rougher sound, so I change from "overdrive" to distortion". That comes with some volume increase -- and feedback risk (wich is way I stay a bit away from the gadget) -- but the general difference in sound quality should be noticeable:
On this one I´m using distortion from the beginning. (And yes, I´m obscenely loud but it came out differently on the street, I promise ...) The mic is a Fireball on both vids:
