Great effect for guitars, pretty useless for harmonica - in my opinion. I much prefer a well-executed throat vibrato or tongue tremolo.

slightly OT: is what we all call throat vibrato actually tremolo? ie: volume changing rather than pitch changing?

I've seen a YouTube clip of Carey bell using one with a chromatic that sounded pretty good.

Diatonic is a different story though- when you mix bends with a tremolo, vibrato or Leslie type pedal, the only result (in my opinion) is campy and cheesy.

Actually I think Carey Bell used a lot of stuff like octave pedal and real Leslie with both chrom and diatonic, mostly 3rd position.
