Who has had the opportunity to see Harmonica Bruce perform live?

He came to SPAH, and I happened to be in Danny G's room when he was busting out a version of "The Man Song", accompanying himself on a chord!

I have had the pleasure of interacting with Bruce a handful of times. He's one of those guys that always leaves you smiling. (or shaking your head )

I hung out with him at HCH 1. I also got to see all of those crazy tricks. He's certainly an interesting guy.

Yeah, he'd be a lot better if he wasn't so shy and straight laced.

I understand that he will be coming to NAMM in January along with Danny G (of New Harmonica.com).
So I will see him then!

Is he the guy that blows up a balloon and uses it to play harmonica?

Yes, he calls that the Michigan bagpipe. He also plays a harmonica backwards and can play a song with the high notes and low notes at the same time.

Along with Jim Rumbaugh I saw Bruce this summer at Danny Gs. After that meeting, I took his advice and purchased the 703 Zing King National Washboard. I've never had so much fun! Bruce will be at the Logan, Ohio Washboard Festival in the Spring.

I have encountered Bruce on a number of occasions in different settings. He is really good at washboard and spoons, and can do things with harmonica that I would not have imagined possible. He has an uncommon chord/bass harmonica that he uses to good effect. He has embraced a nomadic lifestyle and presents a colorful persona dedicated to playing and listening to music. Beyond the persona he is quite knowledgeable musically as well as in other areas, and has an interesting viewpoint on life.

I enjoyed conversation and country jamming with him at SPAH in Denver this August.
