As a lifelong player of 2nd position (exclusively, even on minor songs) I have been pleasantly surprised by the benefits of using other positions. It hasn't been an overnight thing and I have probably resisted it, feeling comfortable and at home in 2nd position.
Playing in 3rd position on this tune opened up an easier path and suggested more musical ideas. I wanted to use a backing track in the established song tempo but couldn't find one and instead used an uptempo track. This also gave me a fresh slant on the song which was interesting. FWIW I am following the recognised melody (Sting's Moon Over Bourbon Street') to a certain extent and adding embelishments here an there.
I used a my rarely played Hohner MS Pro harp and decided to play acoustically with a closed cup which produced an odd sound to me, almost ocarina like :)
