I have 2 premier 120's. An early 50's and late 50's. They have different circuits but both have original 4 ohm speakers.
My amp tech serviced the older one and when measuring the output found it was putting out about 3.5 Watts with the 4 ohm speaker. When testing an 8 ohm load output went to about 10 watts and with 16 ohm old output went to 15 watts.
That said, I am looking to replace that speaker with an 8 or 16 ohm replacement...Any recommendations are appreciated.
I am also surprised that it only put out 3.5 watts at 4 ohms.
The late 50's was putting out about 8 watts with the original 4 ohm speaker...He will test and let me know what it puts out with 8 and 16 ohms as well later tonight...I might experiment and change that speaker as well although that amp sounds killer.
Thank you for the advise.
