The new channel on YouTube is giving me a chance to dig down into some stuff that I somehow managed to miss on my old channel, despite the many videos I've uploaded there. I think you guys will enjoy this one.
I can't help but wonder about the 200 outhouses in that video. Acoustics? Symbolism? Ambiance? I can see 1 outhouse accidentally finding its' way into the background, but I detect a theme here. What's the significance?

I was looking for a quiet outdoor location not too far from my home. I have a couple of different spots on the Ole Miss campus that I often use, but both were busy. That particular spot was free, isolated, with little danger that I'd be disturbed while filming. Good light, too. That's why I filmed there.
I suppose that I was unconsciously happy to find a good location that no other YouTuber would use. I don't think that blues harmonica belongs in music schools. Better to keep a renegade edge.
The truth is, I was just scouting for an outdoor location where I was unlikely to be disturbed.

More easily explained as a drummer would call it - four on the floor shuffle- then just take out the right foot on 2 and 4 if thats what u wanna do- just keep it swinging and dont straighten out the beat
Juke joints tend to be loud, Jinx. Except late in the evening, when folks do the slow drag. Here's Rev. Gary Davis playing something much faster than a slow drag. Somehow I'm comforted by the fact that there are ten people in cyberspace who leaned forward after watching this clip and said, "Hell no! Thumbs down!" I think it's pretty good, but that's just me. You can't please 'em all, bro.

Heard a story today from a great aussie bluesman (Hat Fitz) who said years ago he was playing his heart out, doing some Howlin Wolf stuff at a pub and a big tattooed biker said as he walked past: 'that music is going nowhere c*nt'. Gotta have a thick skin (especially if you're not badass like our prof here) ---------- Lucky Lester

I dig the chord groove in the 2nd video. Kudzu does these better than anybody IMO and I've always loved that just "throw down a groove" element about the harp. And yeah you gotta work at it if you want to get it sounding like how he plays it!
