Hey, here's a page that's usually about guitar, but in this episode the guest is Jim Fitting, harp of Session Americana, and ex of The The, and Treat Her Right. Love this guy:

I really like Jim Fitting's playing. Treat Her Right was a fantastic band that fell somewhere between punk, blues, and rock n roll and never quite got the recognition they deserved!

Jim was my "Little Walter." He was the player I found most inspiring and aspired to play like. I loved all the classic blues guys, but Jim's amazing playing had that aggressive kick-ass edge to it that called out to me. Treat Her Right was the ultimate blend of blues and rock with a little bit of that punk anger.
I always thought that Jim and his playing never got anywhere near the recognition they deserve. Totally underrated, only a select few knew about THR's genius and Jim's ability to be melodic and edgy at the same time.
I told Jim that once, but it was after a big show for him and I think he didn't really get it. We've corresponded by email a few times and he has been incredibly nice. He got me in to see Session Americana when I was on a business trip to Boston and I became a fan instantly.
Anyway, I'm glad there are others here that dig THR and Jim!

So. Jim Fitting.
He got me started with harmonica.
We were classmates back in the '70s. He was this cool harmonica player from San Francisco. I was a non musician from Australia, recruited by the swim team. As an 18 year old, like me, Jim totally rocked. I was hooked, and had to play, through my roommate we ended up in the same group of friends.
We're still in touch. I'd love to see him play now. Guess I'll have to get myself to Boston. ---------- Tony Eyers Australia www.HarmonicaAcademy.com everyone plays...

What a great interview and a terrific player.
Slightly OT, but I am glad that Jim can fly under the "Americana" banner. Recently I tried to book a job at a club and was told, no blues, just Americana bands. What horseshit....Came to pass the booker plays guitar and thinks harp players are no talent buskers cause they don't play guitar and play old time tunes. This is the opinion of a guitar player that makes his living playing Grateful Dead songs and calling it Americana. Baloney....
