Take a look, please.
Can this be part of an effective harp rig? What would it take? As in, what cabinet speaker would work best, etc...

It says,
>>Vintage Heathkit 14 watt amp modified into a guitar amp head.
Sounds excellent and breaks up nicely at full volume. Point to point wiring and mullard tubes.
Just add a speaker cabinet and rock.
Excellent for recording guitar, bass or keyboards $200.00 firm<<

Thanks!

Modified for guitar means they stuck in a 1/4" jack. Didn't even bother to put iN A SPEAKER JACK. Circuit is probably original Heath audio and not for guitar. Besides, you play harp! Save your jellybeans and get a real harp amp. You will be way ahead...BN

I have 3 old tube PA heads that sound pretty good for harp if I use a good speaker and mic. The amp in your link MIGHT work OK for harp. Since most old tube PAs were made for microphones and not weak guitar signals, it could be good. But the seller didn't give info on the circuit, input or output impedance, the tubes, or what mods were made for guitar.

I bought my 3 tube PA amps about 14 years ago for $50 to $75 each on Ebay. There was more info available, and the tubes were listed. The model numbers were given so I could look up the info on the amps. One had a pair of RCA blackplate 6L6s that alone were worth more than what I paid for the amp. When I bought each of them I planned to have them serviced by a friend, which added some expense, but not as much as would be expected from a normal tech. Since they were inexpensive I thought each was worth the gamble. The speakers and cabs me cost more money, but I can use them interchangeably. I like two of the three, the third is just OK. The one with the blackplate RCA 6L6s is great, and my favorite for loud gigs.

I wouldn't pay $200 for the amp you linked without a lot more information about it, the tubes, the circuit, and how it works for harp. I would want to know a trustworthy inexpensive tech before buying such an amp.

I think you probably could put the money to better use on something you know would do the job for you playing harp. But I haven't played through that amp, I don't know anything about it, so I don't know for sure.
