My son lives in Asheville NC but manages to come across the mountains home to TN every couple of months to play a show with his band.

I have a hard time putting a genre name to his music. One song sounded like Rawhide meets Reggae..lol

He asked me to play on a couple and I was delighted when he mentioned Champagne and Reefer plus Death Letter Blues.

Their version was not like my band would but...when in Rome.

Actually, they play very few covers. My son writes and sings all these songs on the playlist. Listen if you like and give me a genre. Is this a type of modern blues he is writing? Not sure it is...Regardless, they are doing well in N.C. and the young crowd loved them over here. This is a sample of The Dirty Badgers playlist. Don't know how to imbed this but..

Here are the videos of my two tunes. Different but us'uns and the crowd had a blast!

The Dirty Badgers Band Derek Frye and his Dad Catfish Frye. Playing the blues at Sleepy Owl. Super performance.
