Back in 2010 I moved to a new city and met two musicians that shared my desire to play Mali/Griot/Afro-influenced blues. We played fully acoustic on remote quays and riverbanks for a couple of months, then went to studio to capture our ideas. We ended up having 30 minutes of songs that were surprisingly intimate and consistent, especially considering the band's short history.

For some reason we never published these songs as a whole until now. I've posted a couple of these tracks over the years, but here's the whole deal. The "Griot Blues Sessions" as they were originally intended.

With this, I wish you a warm and meditative summer!

I was mainly playing lead guitar in these sessions, but there's harp on Black Frog, Wood Crate and King. See YouTube description for song titles and time stamps.

Great stuff J-sin.

I dabble in a little Mali style sometimes.
Love that sound!

"remote quays and riverbanks" is a very evocative phrase.

Great stuff J-Sin. Thanks for sharing.
