Sorry if this has been asked (and asked by me! My mind is not good these days): Rick's DVD "Reveals Secrets Subtleties & Tricks of Blues Harmonica."

Is it any good? I saw Rick talk it up on a clip and he was his usual cheeky self, saying he'd wanted to call it that because that would make people buy it. He's the ultimate showman, but the ultimate salesman too, ha!

Does anyone have it (or has seen it)? I'm staring at Amazon right now wondering what it's like. It's been on my wishlist for a while ...

The guitar man I play with lent me his copy to watch. If you think you're going to learn how to just play the harmonica from this video, then it's not for you. This video is more geared for those who already can at least play moderately. What you learn more is stage presence and how to spice up your playing with such elements as dynamics, tempo, etc. I would still recommend it if you want to improve stage performance, as there are some good tips. If nothing else it's entertaining as Rick is a real character.

Yeah, I liked it a lot. Its not about the mechanics of playing harp; i.e. how to tongue block etc, but about a lot of the other less tangible, but extremely important aspects. Recommended.

Get it! BC is correct in his assessment of the bones of the video. The title does say it all. Lots to be gain about getting on to the next level once you begin hitting a stage and playing with a band.

I enjoy it. I still watch it every now and again, but as others have stated it isn't a technique lesson instruction DVD. It has some good information though and is entertaining. I thought it was worth the price.

I love this CD - it's worth the price just for the entertainment value. As others have said, you will learn a lot about performance, groove, etc. from one of the real masters. I saw Rick last weekend at the Portland Blues Festival. In addition to performing, he spent an hour or so talking about and demonstrating many of things the CD covers.

Rick's DVD is entertaining and gives a number of suggestions about building a solo and adding variety to one's playing. He also has some good online video lessons in Sonic Junction in Jerry Portnoy's section.

I've wanted to see this for some time. Is there anywhere to buy it in the UK, or to buy via download?

I heartily recommend it. Amusing. If you want to try and soak up some of Estrin's mojo it's a good place to start. I think you would get a lot out of it, Danny.
