I'm not connecting as much as I would like to. This is one of my favourite songs... I thought the playing up to 1:40 was kind of off. Both intonation and groove wasn't quite there, IMveryHO.

Here's a nice, slow, soulful version. Have a drink and relax http://youtu.be/iA9Js8g4ozA

I enjoy the PHB verdsion, snappy, funky with a great swing. MMM is great song to work out TB chords and build tension and release, a nice warm up tune.

That other version was way to "cool" for my taste, all that was missing was the crickets. MMM is a soulful tune and this version was too cerebral.

I´m definitely with the Pistolcat here. And in no way because Nils Landgren is a Swede: actually I´m kinda tired of him -- but this is certainly a much more elegant way to treat this standard, that otherwise would perhaps benefit fron resting in the cupboard a few years.

Paul H´s studio version is much better.

Nils Landgren - Funk Unit...my favorite funk band at this time. They nail that ol' school funk to a "T".

A textbook study in how sparse individual parts come together into a groove.
