I might have been using my Boss DD-3 delay, but it sounds like I had it in bypass. Could have been something added through the PA.

Also using my Electrovoice RE15 and my Hilgen T-1506. Thanks, CarlA!

Solo was very interesting. Would have liked band to relax and back down into a quiet groove behind you, but understand it is a jam/bar scene.

Yeah, Iceman, I would have liked that too. I've got to work on communicating when I'm on stage because I was having to play too hard to be heard.

Sounds great to me. Not sure what part you were "playing wrong" unless it was where you and the guitar player both jump to the same harmony note. He probably ought to stay with the bass lick and let you do the harmony line. Thought you all sounded good. This your regular band or just some fellow jammers?

Ridge...

Controlling the band on stage during your solo is important. A responsible band will always defer to the soloist. It's up to you to command them.

Not starting your solo on beat 1 of the first measure is the first step. Next, you can turn around to the band and give them the universal body cue to come down - make eye contact, put your hand out, palm down, and move it down while slightly bending at the knees.

This should do it. Then, take your time beginning your solo.

Very Nice. As far as the band and your solo (which was great) Ice Mans point about not starting on one is good and I just think some space would have helped -like what you were doing during your solo. The other 3 are just full on the whole time. Guess you inspired them...

You sound fine,

The drummer is not close to the original but maybe thats his rock style . He kinda leaves that rest out that Zigaboo uses to makes it funk.

If there's a more bad-ass funk riff than Cissy Strut (or Look-A-Py-Py) I haven't heard it.

So this was actually a paid gig, believe it or not, and I have played with these guys before, but not recently; so it's not an official band by any means.

We didn't have any rehearsal, which I think is pretty apparent when I keep screwing up on the head during the harmony part. We did 3 hours with about 30 minutes of break. I was certainly stretching for material without sounding completely rehashed.

@Littoral - I really enjoyed the last part of your comment.
