We're experiencing strong pre-registration for the 2015 SPAH convention and as a result we've maxed out both the convention hotel (the Crowne Plaza Denver International Airport) and the Cambria Suites. However, the nearby Country inn has agreed to honor the $99/night SPAH rate for 25 additional rooms.
Country Inn & Suites, Denver International Airport, CO 4343 Airport Way, Denver, CO 80239 (303) 375-1105

*Request the “$99.00 SPAH Convention Rate” when making a reservation Tuesday, August 11 through Saturday, August 15.
There is a complimentary shuttle to/from Country Inn & Suites and the Crown Plaza. =========== Winslow

So basically, more music than you can witness in a week . . . once again we take over a business hotel and turn it into a fun house. I can live with that!

SPAH workshops, performances, jams, and hanging out with hundreds of harmonica fanatics is a life affecting experience. There is every kind of harmonica music you can imagine. There are jams in numerous genres. There are young and old players at all levels.
The challenge is participating in everything you want at SPAH while still getting enough sleep to remain semi functional. It is harmonica overdose, in a good way.
This year will be my 5th SPAH (2008, 2010, 2013, & 2014). I am driving from Central Illinois to Denver.
Attending SPAH got me interested in participating in a few other harp events - Hill Country Harmonica, HarmoniCollege, & Harmonica Collective.
The impact of these events and harmonica forums, including this one, on improving and refining my playing has been huge. Musicians who knew my playing and found it acceptable in the past now express amazement at my improved level of playing. These events have been fun and informational, but also very motivational.
Look at Winslow's and Gnarly's lists of performers... where else??? ----------

It's not free but it is worth it. If you live in Colorado and play harmonica, you are missing the boat if you don't attend. Some folks are coming from other countries . . .

I'll be at SPAH again this year and working for Seydel. I will be at the Seydel booth and will also clinic on basic chromatic maintenance.
The evening jams are really neat and lots of fun. By far, the most popular is the blues jam, but don't limit yourself.
Beyond the fedora, are some very good circles. Jimi Lee does an outstanding jam/clinic for those delving into a jazzier sound. It is next level stuff.
Mike Caldwell does a country jam that is amazing. In years past, Buddy Greene would do a bluegrass jam. Pretty amazing that you can sit in a room with him and maybe 5-10 other players. ---------- Greg Jones 16:23 Custom Harmonicas greg@1623customharmonicas.com 1623customharmonicas.com
