ok this is how i would approach bs'sing my way thru a tune
in true waltertore fashion the lyrics were spontaneous on the spot
jive, however if i come up with a lyric i like,
i try to remember it and add to it. i try to make myself laugh.
if you cant laugh at yourself you are taking this blues harmonica stuff way too serious.

if you are playing this with a band that has 2 guitars a keyboard
maybe a sax, or even an entire horn section
you can get away with faking it. just take the middle eight, play some blues riffs and get out of there. if it is just bass, guitar, and drums, you need to play the melody, and intersperse it with blues riffs.

i have a new phone and until i figure out how to download
an app, youtube or dropbox, i can only get about thirty seconds
of video. once i get that sorted out i will play the melody in 3 rd and 5 th position as well as 2 nd. see if i can make it sound more like a song. when in doubt, play the melody.

it is a good idea to record yourself, so you can hear your mistakes
like the intonation issue on the 2 draw from hitting it a bit too hard.

Sorry about that, I was not happy with the sound, my attack was extremely heavy handed, even for me.
So I am trying to upload a revised version, and there are conflict issues

New iphone older mac.

I may need to try a different camera
My flip share is dead in the water
I think there is a go pro around here somewhere. Then I can get a full-length video, and switch harps in mid air.

I will probably delete this entire thread and start from scratch.

I did come up with another verse
Even better than the first.

ok.... this is a tricky little devil

what i am hearing is this....
the first riff is played then to the Am7 chord

the 2nd riff is not exactly the same as the first riff he omits the C note and uses the B note instead
then it goes to the Em7 chord

this going to take some work

it is one thing to bluff your way thru a piece it is another thing entirely to play it correctly

on an F harp the 5 draw is a Bb
so perhaps a country tune harp would work well
in 5 th position

Country tuned harps work great for 5th. I was just messing around with a country tuned diatonic harp playing minor in 5th yesterday.

Normally I use a chromatic in 4th for melodic songs in minor keys; sometimes in 3rd if I want the fat chords.

Ok I've explained how I play this tune a million times so I won't go thru it again. It's in minor so you have a ton options don't be afraid to use them.
