Anyone ever seen a bullet mic in a beer koozie?
Back in the 1990s, I played Sundays 6-10pm at a beer joint jam night with the Mostly Country Band, I know. (I prefer the blues.)I got my first bullet mic and was looking at my beer koozie and thought hmmmm. I threaded the mic cord through the opening and out of the small vent hole and rested the mic face up on the bottom. Then the harp fit perfect in the opening, the opening of the koozie stretched around the harp, sealing the mic inside. This changed the tone of the amplified harp, more round or mellow tones. All closed in tight and I could use only one hand. Had a beer in the other. Never had to buy my own beer at the bar, that was my pay. It's hard to describe, you just have to try it. Like the opposite of a muffler, not trying to be quiet. No where to play the blues around here anymore. I'm 65, retired and nothing to do in this town, Wichita Falls, TX.

That's so crazy, it just...might...work. Gotta try it now.

I have heard of that before. I tried it once, but I didn't like the bulkiness. The sound, however, was satisfactory. If I recall, a company came out with something that did this, too. I have not heard of them for a long time, so it might have been just a harp enthusiast that sold them.

That seems very similar to the idea behind the Huffler (the harmonica muffler). The Huffler is basically a beer koozy, but you put a styrofoam ball in the open end and it essentially muffles the sound. ---------- Marc Graci YouTube Channel
