Hello, Tomlin Leckie here. I'm a long time lurker!

I have a wee question which I am having trouble shedding the light on.

I would like to publish free harmonica tabs of songs other people have written but I'm having trouble working out how the licensing works, and if it is even necessary?

I have tabbed out a couple and downloaded them to harptabs.com.

I'm not sure tab are an infringement of copyright laws. It's only pitches without rhythm and is not completely the song.

My tabs have the standard notation also to provide the rhythm info...

Can you post an example, maybe not a song, just a riff or a few bars.

I dont think that tabs are ilegal, but if you have the tabs for the nes David Barrett cd, that can be a problem because he is selling the tabs in is own website.
