I no longer agree to abide the the forum's creed, or, at least, to its very strict - and somewhat selective - interpretation and/or implementation, and would prefer to be deleted from its database.
I hear those who're saying that this is a blues harp forum, and they're bang on the money. Nevertheless, my arguments have been - unless I'm not particularly bright, or possibly somewhat delusional - very specifically targeted at the double standards I've alluded to above, and, as such, a perfectly valid tangent to what had already been an ongoing discussion.
It's true that my thread was most certainly off-topic. Nevertheless, I can't recall any other OT threads - by virtue of that attribute alone - causing so much upset in the past.
It seems that the knew quasi-religion of Equality causes almost as much disagreement amongst all us silly humans as the old ones have and continue to. And, like all religions, it's steeped in contradictions that can be challenged, if only the challenge were permissible.
Still, that's all neither here nor there. As I said before, I expect to change nothing, and my comments are meant to be more in the form of an expression and an obituary rather than a plea for change.
By the way, thank you for your empathy over the OCD. It is a right royal pain in the rear, as you yourself know. Forty-five minutes to wash your hands. Tell me about it!
Lastly, thanks to our host, who no doubt will be aware of this post, and whom I'm not sure I've ever thanked in the past. Thank you.
Really Mick, over your concept of "free speech" or "PC" or whatever. Too bad, you are getting a little too hung up on this. I was tossed off this site for a week a year or so ago. Kinda of over siimilar issues, but then again, I did get a bit stupid, but there you have it. And what did I learn from that exprience?
You are a guest here on someone else's front porch. It's their place, their rules, their time and $ keeping the place going. You want it to have all the bells and whistles you are talking about, start your own site. Nobody is asking you to be all soup nazi, or conform to some strict dictate. Just be chill.
If you want to go, go. But really, I don't give a hoot for you and others to post a story telling us you're leaving when for some reason, I think you will come back.

@Danny, I have no doubt that he will read it and will continue to check the site out. Whether he comes back, he's been around the block, it's anyone's guess.

the blues is all about self expression people should have the freedom here to express their view the proprietor of this web site always promotes modern blues harmonica playing well who are the ones pushing things forward?... it is the people who are by and large free thinkers who are not afraid to express their view here, i know how i think and how i feel i rather enjoy the other thoughts that are expressed here.
having said all that, i think the final parting shot was way out of line and uncalled for. it puts a pox on your earlier views.
Mick had some interesting thoughts but no need to push the moderators to the limit. Just had to dial back a notch.
