"I'm In, I'm Out, And I'm Gone" – Ben Harper/ Charlie Musselwhite

I must have been under a rock for the past couple of years as I totally missed this song and if any of you haven't heard it, please give it a listen because, in my opinion, it's damn near perfect.

Charlie and Ben met many years ago and hit it off - always wanted to do a project together. Charlie toured with Ben for about a year over this album - immediately after he toured with Cyndi Lauper for a year and a had over their collaborative work. This is big time stuff. Charlie told me there are more guys on Ben Harper's crew than there are in his band - they need 2 semi's to move the show. Charlie has paid dues for a long, long time and it is great that these associations have rewarded him and exposed him to new young audiences. He is a bona fide elder statesman of the blues.

That entire Harper-Musselwhite album is excellent.
Highly recommended.

This is why I call Charlie "The Miles Davis of the blues harmonica".

Always playing w/younger musicians. Never growing old, etc.

WOW Iceman and I agree! I have been calling Musselwhite the Miles Davis of the harp for a long time, mostly because his style and the music he plays along with consistently changes.
