This is in no way a political statement.
I think this gives a good feel for what the
general public considers blues.

I think the lineup is a carefully considered attempt to represent the contemporary mainstream blues world. It has old lions (BB and Buddy), old Brit blues rockers (Jeff Beck, Mick), several generations of younger Af-Am artists (Keb' Mo', Shemekia Copeland, Gary Clark, Jr.), a token jazz guy repping NOLA (Trombone Shorty), and some best-selling younger white performers (Warren Haynes, Derek Trucks, Susan Tedeschi). I'm sure I missed somebody, but that's most of the lineup.

No harp player? Surprising.

Zero representation from the soul-blues side of the equation--i.e., blues artists with black audience bases. Bobby Rush would have been a good choice since he's crossed over from that world to the mainstream world.

Yep, I can't comment on this without making a political statement...so, nuff said!

Well, actually not...they could have started of by showing ALL the AFBF DVDs and saying some appropriate comments/praise on some of the originators!
That sweetie hosting it I just bet she ain't got a clue who any of those cats are and why did the secret service not arrest Jagger for murdering a great tune!!!!!!
But hey he did redeem himself mentioning Sonny Boy and Hubert.

I would say BB KIng and Booker T represent soul blues.
