$49-- am going to get one if I can find someone who'll tell me that it's for Reed changing, not for just holding reedplate in place...punches out rivets and compresses rivets...thank you....

It is for switching out reeds. Very well made. Elizabeth sells them and she is a sweet lady. I think she has her brother make them.
However, the punch can sometimes oversize the rivet hole which makes re-using the rivet a little harder.
I'm arguably biased but personally, I think the heavy duty tool sold by Rockin Ron is better.
On the latest ones, I made the receiver hole a little larger so it will work on rivets that have mushroomed/flattened heads. ---------- Greg Jones 16:23 Custom Harmonicas greg@1623customharmonicas.com 1623customharmonicas.com

GMaj7 How much(cheap) are the tools you mentioned?(I mean low in price, not quality) P.S. I contacted hohner about single Reed purchase for sp20, they do single reeds..my question is who, as I had asked hohner and they said no, who sells single reeds for hot metal or blues band..and plus I have a MB crossover ..

Punches can make the hole too big and the rivet not usable. I tell you this from experience. The solution then would be 00-80 screws. ----------

Udderkuz03 I think Rockin Ron sells it for $80.
You mention a very good point. Not all companies sell single reeds and when they do, many times the cost is not worth it.
There are plenty of guys out there that can change out Hohner reeds very inexpensively. By the time you buy the tools, spend hours looking for the parts/reeds, asking questions on forums, messing up a few harps etc..
You could have easily either replaced the harp or sent it to Mike Peace, Andrew, or Harvey and had it repaired... multiple times..

Hey, or to me Greg! Anyway, this is for Diggs--my progression is usually to try to use the rivet, plan B is the smaller Suzuki screws and then if all else fails, they also gave me some tiny bolts and nuts, similar build to the regular screws. Those work really well--wish I could get some more, they were a gift.

I struggled to find someone to do repairs in Australia, so I became the guy who does repairs. But there are a few others here now. Re reeds...I dunno about hot metal and bluesband reeds, probably need to cannabilise. But crossover uses same reeds as marine band, rocket, sp20, GM, deluxe.
