I'm thinking about trying out a local Holland Gibb Droll (1999?) for sale as a addition to my amp collection. I have the small and mid sized amps covered with my Fender Champ and Premier 120 but, I've been hankerin' for a replacement to my old Concert that I sold some years back. I recently played through a Fender Bassman RI at a local jam and it got me hooked again on that fat bottom end and frankly the fact that I could be heard above the guitars and drums.
Anyone have experience with one of these "Boutique" amps? Your thoughts and any suggestion of what to look for when I do get a chance to play through it would be appreciated. It's basically in the price range of a used Bassman LTD. It has 3 Jensen Cq10's and a PR10 that the reverb uses. So as I understand it, it is basically a 3x10 without the reverb. I've read some good and bad things about the reverb on these being inside the back and a pain to get at while playing. There is a picture of it up on Reverb.com Thanks
