I am going to remove a volume control from one of my bullets and install a toggle switch - on/off. Does anyone have a website they know off where I could order this switch?

Thanks in advance...

I have nice small switches.

Just out of curiosity - what shell/element/volume pot combination do you have? I'm assuming you feel the volume pot is bad for tone?

Greg -

It is the SHURE 707A mic that you handled - it has a volume [pot that MR MICROPHONE put in years ago... I just dont like VC with CRYSTAL elements... I am strictly an on/off guy these days... Do you think I can replace the volume pot with the switch? That is, should the size of the hole in the shell work?

thanks.. K

My local hardware stores have on/off switches of various styles. I have nice big ones in my bullet mics, and lately I also have Greg's volume control on the end of the mic cable. Once I get a volume setting I like, I can switch on/off. Don't lose vol. level.

Hi - sorry I don't remember the specific mic but I'm familiar with Dennis' work and I am willing to bet $$ to donuts that that pot has a .243" shank. Shouldn't be a problem to find a switch - Try Radio Shack (if there's still one open near you) - they actually have a very decent selection of small switches. There are many shank sizes but they're mostly slightly under 1/4". Note that height (and potential interference with the element MIGHT be an issue.)
