Our Mooncat suggested that I buy one of Greg's Ultimate 57 mics several times but I was really attached to some nice bullet mics. I finally bought one and love it for lots of reasons. One reason is that it makes my effect pedals come alive due to the increased frequency range as compared to my other mics. Because I was wanting to go wireless I had several emails back and forth with Greg about the units that he sells. I finally decided to use an AKG wireless that I already owned but needed a hi-z mic to use with the guitar bug. Greg didn't make the sale on the wireless unit but he sold me an Ultimate 57 converted to hi-z. Actually, I sent him an SM57 that I already owned and he converted it. Get this! The mailman picked up my mic at my house on Feb 3 in Indiana. Greg is located in California. I rec'd the beautifully converted mic in my mailbox today on Feb 11! I tested it and of course it kicks ass.
So...today I'm reporting that not only did he do a great job as a technician but he gave me great FAST service and he was patient and answered all of my questions honestly which helped me to decide how I would solve my problem. I see him do the same thing here on the forum daily. He always chimes in with solid information based on his real life experience and expertise. He's so helpful and patient with new folks and others that are moving into amp'd playing. If you're new you can save money by going to Greg for mics, etc. Most of us didn't do that. We experimented with all kinds of things first trying to save a buck and then we finally went to Greg for the real deal.
Great guy, great resource, super products! No affiliation beyond very satisfied customer.

I also had great service before the sale with Greg, and I too am very happy with the ultimate 57 I bought from him.
Not ironically, I also had quick shipping from California to my house.

Greg modded a dynamic mic for me a few years back and did an excellent job on it, it's all I asked for and a major work horse mic for me with zero problems.
Greg has been a true asset on this forum and to me personally as well.
