It started out with a lot of unforced errors on the part of the harmonica player, I will readily concede. This video is a good lesson in why woodshedding is important, even for guys who have been at this for a while. I've always found "Thunky Fing" to be at the outside of my technical capacities--which is to say, if I've practiced it for a while, I don't have too much trouble getting it right, but if I think I can walk into a gig and, without having practiced it, just nail it, I'm wrong.
Playing the song is, in effect, woodshedding it. I haven't watched this clip all the way through, but it seems that as I got further into the song, things started to flow a little more fluidly and with fewer errors.
Thanks to Iceman for digging this out of the archives.
Interesting. The harmonica seems intent to mercilessly destroy any funky interplay between the two of them. The drums serve the relentless barrage, warning no quarter eill be given. Terroriffic!! ----------
