Recently, I've been captivated by Gary Primich's playing on his version of Don't Tear My Clothes. I like the use of the flat five and the six chord. I think it sort of, kind of, maybe goes like this:
| I - - - | - - - - | IV - - - | | bV - - - | I - - - | - - VI - | | IV - V - | I - IV - | I V - - |
Am I close? (Indications of rhythm are very approximate!) I guess my real question is: Is this a common progression? Does it have a name? Are there other good examples of it?
Just curious. Thanks for humoring me. As basically a 12-bar only guy, I find exploring this sort of thing to be very enlightening.

gary primich was a great guy and was always nice to me when he came to philly. there is a west philly harmonica player(from fargo SD) who does a truly great version of primich's dallas.
i do this song with the same chord progression as baby let me follow you down. ----------

so,even though the video is in C and adds a turnaround,i would use these chords when i do it:
G F C/g Eb/g Baby let me follow you down, baby let me follow you down G/b D/a C/e D/f# Well I'll do anything in this godalmighty world C/g D/f# G If you just let me follow you down. ----------
