Hi folks -

I have a Kalamazoo Model II which I love. But, like most harpers I know, am always looking for other options.

It has a stock speaker. Any ideas what it would do to the sound to swap out the speaker? Say, to a Lil' Buddy?

Thanks folks -
Incidentally, I have a VHT Special 6 (which I originally ordered the speaker for) but now wonder which I amp I should install it in...

Thanks all.

Sounds like you already have the Lil' Buddy -- try it; see what you think.
(I happen to have a Weber 10F150-O in mine, but that is not the standard advice you will get - I however think it sounds great -- and that's what matters.)

I tried a few different ones in mine, including the Lil' Buddy. In the end I put the original speaker back in, as it sounded just as good as any of them to me.

I tried the following replacement speakers in my 'Zoo last year:

* Jensen Jet Tornado
* Eminence 1028k
* Weber 10A125O with H dustcap

For me, the Weber was the clear winner. Round sound with smooth response, no "spiky" character anywhere with this one. Very musical sounding chords compared to the other options.

The 1028k also sounded good to me, but not as good as the Weber.

My Zoo has the stock speaker, with a freshened circuit. I can't imagine it sounding any better...BN

i had a Weber 10A100 smooth cone in mine. Sounded terrific. Still plenty of crunch but louder and with more quality nature to the tone.

Do you want it to sound good at home/the studio, or while playing out with a band? I imagine that would be an important factor in choosing a speaker. One that is not always considered.
