CaptialG is very fortunate. I happen to know that third-position major is a topic of “major” interest for Jason/Mooncat. He (and I and a few others) will be teaching at the Harmonica Collective in Indianapolis in late April. For more information vist the Harmonica Collective website.

Check out these snippets from David Barrett's interviews with several of the past and future Harmonica Collective's Expert Guides (over at Bluesharmonica.com, subscribers can enjoy the full-length interviews):

I have a quick question. This year's SPAH was my first harp get together, and I loved it. Indy is just 2.5 hours from my house, and I want to go to the collective. However, I have about 500,000 Marriott points. Would I be missing a lot of the experience if I stayed at another hotel?

You should stay wherever it makes sense to you. (However, it helps us meet our commitment to the hotel if you stay at the convention hotel).

If you stay i the hotel where the event takes place, you're never more than an elevator ride away from your room, so you can easily go back there to grab harps, dump stuff you don't need to lug around, grab a quick nap, or stay out late without having to drive or walk back to your digs. But if you can save on accommodation, that's a powerful consideration as well.
