It´s a gross blasphemy, I know ("Thou shalt never say anything untoward about Kim Wilson") but I find these a capella sections of his concerts rather boring and wish he would shorten them.
My impression is that this is harmonica playing for harmonica players, and although his execution is flawless, it stops things up for too long.
Don´t know that I´ve ever seen guitar virtuosos etc feel the need for this kind of thing -- but I may be wrong? And I´m not talking "dynamics", that´s a given thing.(At one time it worked rather well on a concert when his amp blew a fuse and he could huff and puff for a while in the vocal mic as the technicians did their thing. Great savoir faire.)
