Last year I play a lot with a band where we do trumpet + harmonica "brass" section. Looking for any other examples of harmonica+trumpet.

Thats a really good playing I do like the combination brings a really fresh sound. Totally dig it you actually sound like a trumpet on the solo area nice swinging

Not Exactly what you might be asking but here is something I played

There is a brass section: Trumpet, Trombone and Saxophone plus a harp.

On this song I was playing filler areas between the brass section phrases and when the trombone takes lead I stick and join the brass section and I think sounds pretty rad

I actually spoke with the sax player and I want to take phrasing lessons and such from him since hes been studying jazz and stuff like that, might be a good idea to try that out

I'm actually a trumpet player who took up harp a couple years ago, and I find the two instruments to be remarkably similar.

On both instruments there is a need for breath control, opening the throat, note bending, conditioning of facial muscles, and quite a few other things.

Players of both instruments need to embrace their role and concentrate on supporting the vocalist much of the time. The extent to which they do this is often indicative of their maturity as a musician.

Also, trumpet style tonguing on harp is a nice tool to have available.

Unfortunately, I haven't found a way to play trumpet and harp at the same time.

For a few years now I've been branching out bit by bit into other instruments etc.....adding Irish whistles (dead easy..want the lo-d flute now) percussion and others to my arsenal. I know many of u guys play other instruments also, and I particularly interested in those that have similar technique etc, such as this thread suggests....
I'd like to give the trumpet and or the 'Bone' a serious go in the not to distant future.
Part of my reason I guess is that frustrating feeling of not being taken seriously as a musician with our dear little instrument....but also its good to have a bit more freedom with the sound I can produce. I like the idea that they are 'fretless'....(?)...and I very much like the idea that I'm essentially blowing different sorts of reeds still, and comfortably exercising my role in the brass section.
PS....& Boris....you sound Awesome as usual!

@Gus

The best way to describe what I meant by trumpet style tonguing was to make a quick video.
