It seems like Hohner has raised it's prices in Europe by 10 - 20 % overnight.

A Thunderbird now costs a whopping 98 EUROS. Was below 80.
A Golden Melody will set you back 37 Euros. Was 28 like 2 years ago, and last month they went around 31.

Don't know if this will come to the states as well. Until this is undone, I'll manage with what I have or try some more Manji's or something.. I told Santa: No harps this Christmas.

It's a dirty shame to take those money for harps you have to work on to get them airtight and in tune!
2 months ago i decided to change from SP 20 to Marine band and did a great investment. I bought 7 harps. 3 harps was leaky and out of tune. And the 4th was just leaky.

Just another reason why we all need to think of harps as long-term investments. Learn to maintain and repair them or develop a relationship with someone who will do it at a reasonable price. It is the world we live in today.

Hohner is out of touch with the market, and the needs of people who use their products. Seydel and Suzuki continue to take market share.

By the way, judging from the current decline of the Yen against the Euro and USD, we will likely see price reductions from Suzuki... Imagine if the Manji/Olive/Promaster/Hammond dropped to, say, 30€/40$...

ouch! SP20s were around €23 on Thomann about a month ago.

It looks like Hohner timed the increase to profit from Christmas shoppers.
