I have a chance to buy two JT30's. The green one in the box, looks like new, even has a marketing brochure. The other is brown, new in box, Both include the stands, and cables.
I'm hoping someone who knows will give me a ballpark value, if you were in the market. I've read what I can find here and they vary quite a bit. I'm going on the assumption that they will play well, they have certainly been stored well so far. Lots of pictures, and they are flawless ,and do look new. This guy got them with radio equipment 10-12 years ago, and is not a musician.
I would likely send them off to Greg and let him look them over before playing them.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Depends on the elements. If they are working crystals, they could be worth couple of hundred bucks each. If they're dead (more likely) they could be about half that IMO. ---------- Lucky Lester

NOS in the box untested can range from $100-150 each.
The early Youngstown models in the higher range. If there tested strong with original elements, you can add another $50-100 each.
Storage doesn't mean anything, and keep in mind they may work now, but may not after shipping or shortly after you receive them.
If the elements are strong Ceramic, you chances are better.
I learned my lesson with crystal mics and always assume I'm just buying the shell and value them accordingly.

Thanks, he wants $150 each, and they do LOOK new, but I guess I'll pass. Spend the money on something I need-that's four new low key Manjis. :)

The only way to know is to plug them into an amp and try them. As said - if the elements are still strong they ARE worth $150 each - with room to make a profit if you sell them. If the crystals have died (and that can happen, even to "new in the box" mics) - then it would over-paying.
I've never seen a green JT30........ are you sure that isn't just the seller's generic term for bullet mic and its really a Shure green bullet? ---------- *************************************************** /Greg
