Will there be a Harmonica Collective in 2015, and if so, any idea of when?
Just trying to figure out plans for next year... ----------

I'm nailing down the basic right now.
We're looking at the week of April 27. We're debating whether to add Wednesday instruction to the previous Thursday-Saturday schedule.
We're working with the Indianapolis Airport Crowne Plaza (same as last year; people seemed to like that venue) but haven't yet worked out all of the details.
Jason Ricci will be back, even though his performing career is starting to take off again. He and I have been brainstorming on how to improve the event.
We're not ready to announce the rest of the Expert Guides and Special Guest stars yet. Some interesting discussions are going on at the moment, but it's too soon to say more. We'll be updating the website in about a week and will also start posting updates here and on the Facebook Harmonica Collective page. =========== Winslow Harmonica For Dummies, Second Edition with tons of new stuff Deepen your playing at the Harmonica Collective

Hey, I got nothing against Naptown, but excuse me, CHICAGO? Reasonably easy to get to, several hotels in this burg, and harmonicas are not unknown here ...

I can easily travel to either place from where I live in Central Illinois, but I think that the arrangements and incidental expenses are probably lower in Indy.
Since The Harmonica Collective originated in discussions with Jason Ricci, and he lives in Indiana, I am fine with it staying where it is.
Indy is a bit east of Chicago making it an easier drive from Ohio and places to the east. It is accessible from Michigan and Kentucky. It is a short drive down from Chicago, and not that far from St. Louis. It is by the airport, so it is just as accessible for long distances as a Chicago airport hotel.
In my experience traffic is sometimes a hassle in Indy, but nowhere in the league of Chicago. Hotel arrangements are more inexpensive in Indy than in Chicago, too (taxes!).
During the event there is not a lot of time for exploring any town hosting The Collective due to the intensive nature of the workshops, so I support saving money and keeping it in Indy. ----------

We started in Indianapolis as Jason was restricted to Indiana at the time due to terms of his parole.
As he's lived there for a few years now, Jason is well-connected to local resources such as backing bands and venues.
SPAH moves around every year but always depends on a local harmonica club or similar organization to provide one-the-ground local logistical support.
The Harmonica Collective might be held in another location in the future, but for now everything lines up to help us succeed in Indy. =========== Winslow Harmonica For Dummies, Second Edition with tons of new stuff Deepen your playing at the Harmonica Collective

@bluemoose - are you suggesting a west coast Collective? The idea has come up.
Any time spent on an airplane is a drag, but I move around the continent a few times a year, and 6 1/2 hours is not uncommon. =========== Winslow Harmonica For Dummies, Second Edition with tons of new stuff Deepen your playing at the Harmonica Collective

I would be delighted to participate in a West Coast Collective! Wonder how much encouragement my (part time) employer would provide?

@Winslow - I'd be down for a West Coast event, preferably NW, but then everyone else would have travel issues. (Seattle Gindick camp was ok but sparse.) I can cross the border (at least last time I did alright) but others have problems coming north so I guess Canada is out. (Unless select groups want to have it at my house, I'll cook!) Did a 7 hour flight in September but it was to bloody ICELAND!!!! (Sorry for my enthusiasm but it was incredible :)
