Please recommend straight 8s or rock harp playing lessons. My student has been through many Filisko lessons and has a lot of shuffle patterns down, but when I called on him to do a 12 bar rock (not shuffle) solo he was lost.

We downloaded Adam’s “Sunshine of Your Love” lesson. I’m looking for similar lessons.

From experience, rock has a tendency to use a greater amount of straight 8th notes than blues and also is RARELY ever played behind the beat and usually going to be right on top or ahead of it, depending on what rock groove you're playing. Sometimes notes aren't gonna be held out very long at all whereas you may run into notes getting held out longer in blues, plus many rock tunes have both the vocals have the phrasings start off the 1 and the 3, whereas in blues, phrasing off the 2 and the 4 is more common.

Have him play along with BB King's Bad Case of Love. It is blues so it should feel familiar but it is definitely a straight 8's feel.
