Brendon is a NZer. Used to jam with him back in the 80s. He's not the best pure blues harp player from here but man he's got some wicked chromatic and celtic-style chops. Lovely dude too.
"He's not the best blues harp player"-try and get hold of his Two Trains Running cd he did with Dave Peabody; it might just change your mind on this point. It's blues harp par excellence as far as I am concerned.
The last one (F) is cool. Sounds very Beautiful! The personification of Chinese folk music. ONLY 10 views. everyone should listen to this. And as I understand it on a harmonica with only draw notes!

Each to their own Stokes Bay Slim. I've known Brendon for over 25 years and he'd be first to acknowledge there are several great blues players in NZ who probably do that particular style of harmonica at least as well if not more authentically. That's not to diminish the professors' abilities in any way. He's a mutha at several styles and a creative force! I just find his blues playing a little too well-mannered. As for the guitarist/singer you mentioned. Not really my cup of tea either from a blues POV. But then what do I know? Sounds like we might disagree on a few things.... but music ain't a contest and like I say each to their own bro. Peace DW
Peace to you too Darren, as you rightly say - "each to their own." Myself I like all good blues harp and love Brendan's take on the genre. I don't know him but have met him and he is a formidable force for all things good in harmonica. All the best brother - Pete Harman aka Stokes Bay Slim on this fine forum
