Since so much gets chewed up and spit out on this forum, I'm always surprised when I come across a fine player who has never been mentioned here. Mo Aljaz is the leader of a French traditional combo called Mo and the Reapers. His video came up when I was looking through old Little Walter videos; I clicked and was impressed. You tell me:

What I find fantastic about this type of approach to blues is that tone is king. There is a lot of tension created when he plays 2 hole inhale, which is interesting because this note from a musical standpoint has no tension. It is "at rest".

The magic is the injection of tension into a note that is at rest.

Also, band is an almost good example of that primitive sound except this band seems to be trying too hard.

nice stuff, 2nd video was really nice. the harp soloing sat nicely as a an element in the overall arrangement, rather the common filler device so often used by lesser bands.
