Since so much gets chewed up and spit out on this forum, I'm always surprised when I come across a fine player who has never been mentioned here. Mo Aljaz is the leader of a French traditional combo called Mo and the Reapers. His video came up when I was looking through old Little Walter videos; I clicked and was impressed. You tell me:

What I find fantastic about this type of approach to blues is that tone is king. There is a lot of tension created when he plays 2 hole inhale, which is interesting because this note from a musical standpoint has no tension. It is "at rest".
The magic is the injection of tension into a note that is at rest.
Also, band is an almost good example of that primitive sound except this band seems to be trying too hard. ---------- The Iceman

nice stuff, 2nd video was really nice. the harp soloing sat nicely as a an element in the overall arrangement, rather the common filler device so often used by lesser bands. ----------
