I got to know the trio "Black Kat & Kittens" based in Berlin. They released an album which I got today (CD version) and which I enjoy. You can listen to 30 second clips at:

I really, really like the song on that second video. It's haunting, and the harp playing is groovy and superb.

yes that second track especially is great
can't think of anything too similar - I'm reminded a little of Meshell Ndegeocello's more rootsy music
Also the Heritage Blues Orchestra mines a similar theatrical blues gospel sound with a European twist- more mainstream though

Enjoyable music, nicely done :)
I scored tickets for Puss'n Boots today comin 0n Oct 4th, the band is traveling with and featuring 5 time Grammy winner Norah Jones - should be a cool show - its in a little theater and tickets are only $25.00.
And we will be seeing a band called "the Duhks" in a cool little venue in Oct too, price was right and seems like fine musicians.

Adam, what a coincidence when you speak of a "haunting" song. That's the phrase which is also used to describe the Black Kat & Kittens rendition of "I just Can't Keep From crying Sometimes" for this video:
