Just stumbled across this pedal by Caitlinbread called the Belle Epoch that is a pedal version of the most classic tape echo/delay of them all, The Echoplex. The only pedal I ever came across close to the sound of a real Echoplex was the Line 6 Delay Modeler, which unlike other delay pedals trying to simulate an Echoplex, it even reproduced the tape hiss, but this seems to be even beyond that. I did a recording session years ago using an old tube version of it. Great unit, but finding replacement tapes for them were a pain to find, so this looks to be the next best thing to one.

that looks like it will do the trick.
i have been wanting to try that out myself.

i have a chandler digital echo
one of the best delays i've found so far.
the issue i have is it is a rack mount,
totally unnecessary, a few people that use them, have had it made into a pedal. not sure what that will cost me, may be cheaper,to just buy the bella.

nothing sounds quite like a tape echo
but for harp, most of us just use a short slap back
close enough,will do.

bob do use a dd3 pedal?
most of the serious harp players in la.
use the boss dd3
lester butler rod piazza,william clarke
i believe adam gussow uses one as well
others like the rv 3 dennis gruenling
and the mighty tom richmond. just curious.

I haven't used a DD3 since 1999 and I'm not a fan of the Boss RV3 at all for both delay and reverb at all.

When I first saw William Clarke, he was using an old tube Echoplex in 1991.

These days, I use the LW Delay and the LW Reverb pedal, the latter I was involved with its design.

A guitar player I play with uses a clinchFX EP-pre, it is based on the pre-amp section of the Echoplex, no delay, he let me try it out for a minute or two before a show once and it was hard to give it back!

However, we tuned it to have a lower output impedance than the EP-3 to not load down the output as much

this was on the bella site
i am wondering, if it will work well with a
crystal mic.

WC did use a echoplex for the longest time
if i remember correctly it was solid state.

i remember the first time i saw him
with the boss pedal, i was surprised.
when i asked him about it, his response was,
"it'll do, when i pressed him further
he pushed his sunglasses down his nose
and repeated, it'll do!
he did not suffer fools well,
and did not like to repeat himself.
but i always had a million foolish questions for him.
he would always take the time, to answer.
