All this talk of mentoring and tradition reminded me that my amigo Steve Gardner, a fine traditional harmonica/slide player from MS who has his feet deep in the MS mud tradition, is touring in August with a bunch of like minded friends.

Catch them if you can: Live Schedule August MS/TN/LA

Their business model of solo artists coming together to do a collaborative touring show is a great idea, and might interest some people.

"The Acoustic House Party & Traveling Road Show is both a combined short set of solo performances by each of the artist, some combined duo efforts, along with a closing set in which all four members share the stage. All four of the musicians play National Reso-phonic Guitars, arch top guitars of one kind or another while Rambling Steve Gardner and Bill Steber add harmonica, saw, banjo-ukulele, kazoo and washboard. All Shows are Family Friendly and Big Leg Fun at its best. "
