His Tough Luck cd more or less rewrote my whole harp ideology. It's hard to explain but I really felt his love come through the instrument. He just had such a great tone and take on music, I came away infected in a very good way. ---------- http://www.reverbnation.com/jawboneandjolene

Carey Bell was a truly badass harp player. The more I listen to him, the more I learn and the more I realise I have to learn.

His "DEEP DOWN" cd did it for me as far as sitting at his feet to learn...And look at the musicians who backed him throughout his career - that speaks volumes about his skills as a band leader and musician :)
