I bought my first delay pedal. I am running it straight through a PA, no amp. This pedal does not have a volume control on it. I like what it does, and it sounds good.... but when I turn it on it increases the volume a lot. Is there anything to do about this?
( I don't have an amp and have not decided whether to get one or not. My harp teacher & I have discussed this & have been pretty happy with the PA. )

What brand/model is the pedal? Do you have a volume control on the mike? What kind of mike are you using?

The pedal is a JOYO analog delay pedal. The mic is a Shure SM58, and it does not have a volume control.

i had the same pedal, and I dont have that problem.
I guess, that is a impedance issue. The Sm58 is a 200ohms mic, and the Joyo has an output ok 1k. Maybe when is off, in TB, you are using the output of the mic, and when is on, you use the output of the pedal.
Solution: buy a Impedance matching transformer, is going to solve your problem and the impedance missmatch.
Maybe Greg can confirm this.

Thanks guys. I don't understand everything you are talking about but some of it. This may add to the problem, or help, I don't know. I am using a impedance matching transformer to connect my mic cord to the pedal.
